ROLAND D. BLACK, 26, of Sabillasville, Md., died Sunday at the Veteran's Hospital in Washington, D.C.
Born in Sabillasville, he was the son of Paul Black and the late Vada McKissick) Black.
He had been employed at the Frick Co., Waynesboro prior to entering the Navy. Black was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church near Sabillasville.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his widow, Dorothy (Stottlemyer) Black; a son, Byron C. Black, a brother, Theodore A. Black of Sabillasville, and foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Hatter of Sabillasville.
Funeral services will be held in the Creager Funeral Home, Thurmont, Md., at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow, with the Rev. Arthur Wood officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery, Thurmont.
Friends may call at the funeral home after noon today.
