Iris Sue Alberts, age 77, a resident of Pasadena for 45 years, passed away at her home on June 17, 2017 after suffering from cancer for seven months.

She was born on August 30, 1939, in Harlan, Kentucky, to the late Lola F. and Joe W. DeBusk. After her family moved to Maryland when she was very young, she graduated from Glen Burnie High School, then married and began raising her family. She was a member of Glen Burnie Baptist Church, and the Severna Park Bridge Club. She also enjoyed travelling, gardening, antiquing, and of course, spending time with her grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Iris is preceded in death by her son Douglas Mark Alberts, and her brother Joseph Alan DeBusk.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years: Pastor Douglas Alberts; her two loving daughters: Pam Leary, of Pasadena, and Stacy Blanton, of Houston, TX; her brother Kenneth Ray DeBusk, of Florida; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Family invites friends to visit at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena, on Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 1 until 2 PM in Grace Baptist Church, 17 Somerset Rd, in Sunset Beach, where her funeral service will begin at 2 PM.
