Rex E. Brinkman
Rex E. Brinkman, age 86, died at 4:47 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at Birchaven Care Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 14, 1920 in Hancock County to the late Edward F. and Ethel M. (Wilkes) Brinkman. On February 14, 1940, he married Nancy E. Rinehart and she died on December 15, 2000.
Rex was the founder and owner of Brinkman Turkey Farms. He loved to fish and truly enjoyed flowers. He was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church where he formerly served on the Board. He was a former member and superintendent of Mt. Zion Methodist Church. He was a member of the Findlay Men's Garden Club, the Findlay Area Chamber of Commerce and the National Turkey Federation. He was a former member of the Hancock Wood and Electric Board and had served on the first Arlington E.M.S. Board.
He is survived by two sons: Larry E. (Shirley) Brinkman and Joe R. (Kathleen) Brinkman both of rural Arlington and two daughters: Brenda S. (Herbert W.) Seelbach Jr. of Findlay and Linda C. (Robert D.) Elsea of rural Arlington. He is also survived by a brother: Robert Brinkman of Leesburg, Virginia as well as 6 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Oletha Fisher and Helen Cleary as well as one step-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. and Friday from 2-8 p.m. at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME in Findlay. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church in Findlay.
Pastor Todd E. Frail and John Miller will officiate with interment being held in Bishop Cemetery in Eagle Township. Memorials may be given to either the Alzheimer's Association of NW Ohio, 1800 North Blanchard Street, Suite 110, Findlay, Ohio 45840 or to St. Andrew's United Methodist Church or to the charity of the donors choice.
