BOGATA — Marjorie Strain, 79, of Hurst, formerly of Detroit, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, at her residence.
Graveside services are set for 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, in Detroit Cemetery with Benny Cogburn speaking. Wood Funeral Home of Bogata has charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
She was born May 4, 1923, in Red River County, the daughter of Maxie and Gertrude Murphy Melton. She was a member of the Detroit Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lewis Strain Jr. April 19, 1998.
Survivors include her son, Mac Strain and wife, Mona, of Hurst; sister, Joyce Covington of Detroit; three grandchildren, Nikki, Sara and Matthew; two great-grandchildren, Ricky and Cody; and an aunt, Willa Catherine Murphy of Paris.
