Eleanor Sutton of Dudley was the daughter of John Sutton VI, 1st Baron Dudley and Elizabeth Berkeley, widow of Sir Edward Cherleton.

She married first, Sir Henry Beaumont of Wednesbury, Staffordshire, and Egginton, Derbyshire. He was the son of Henry Beaumont of Wednesbury and Tynmore and Joan Heronville, widow of William Leventhorp. He died on 16 Nov 1471 and was buried in Saint Bartholomew's Church, Wednesbury. In his will, proved on 30 Nov 1471, he left his lands at Egginton, Derbyshire, to his wife Eleanor, and the rest of his estates to his eldest son John.

Henry and Eleanor were the parents of:

1. Sir John Beaumont of Wednesbury died 21 Sep 1502; married Joan Mitton.

2. James Beaumont, ancestor of the Beaumont family in Suffolk.

3. Constance (b. ca 1467) married John Mitton of Weston under Lizard, Staffordshire.

After 1470, Eleanor married her second husband, George Stanley, Esq. He was the ancestor of the Stanleys of West Bromwich and was also Lord of the Manor of Hammerwich in Lichfield, Staffordshire. He was a younger son of Thomas Stanley of Elford and his second wife, Elizabeth.

George and Eleanor were the parents of:

1. John Stanley died 7 Oct 1534 at Bromwich Hall, Staffordshire, England; married Cecily Freebody.

2. Anne Stanley married John Wolseley.

NOTES: "George Stanley, a younger son of Thomas Stanley, lord of Pipe, held an estate in Hammerwich of the bishop by 1475 and was described as lord of Hammerwich in the 1480s. He died in 1509, and his son and heir John held three messuages and meadow in Hammerwich at his death in 1534. His home was then at West Bromwich, where the manor was held by his wife. John's son and heir Francis, lord of West Bromwich from 1552, was succeeded by a son George in 1558. In 1574 George Stanley held a house and land in Hammerwich as part of Farewell manor."
