Sister Mary Supple was born on August 2, 1927, in Chicago, IL, daughter of John and Bridget (Henneberry) Supple.
Sister Mary was professed August 5, 1948. She joyfully taught music at Blessed Sacrament School, Sioux City, Iowa, for five years. She then began her mission in the intermediate grades; for eight years at Annunciation, Minneapolis; for one year at St. Luke, River Forest, IL.; and for six years at Immaculate Conception, Chicago. She next taught math for three years at St. Cajetan, Chicago, and then tutored, first at St. Richard, Omaha, and then at St. Sabina, Chicago, with another year of teaching at Sacred Heart, Rockwell, Iowa. For four years she taught math at Rosary School, Oklahoma City, before returning to St. Sabina as an upper grade teacher in math and computers for 20 years; from 1980 to 2000. After retiring, she served in various ministries in community life--at Trinity Convent, River Forest; Divine Providence Convent, Des Plaines; Dominican Motherhouse, Sinsinawa; and at St. Dominic Villa. Sister has faithfully devoted her time here on earth to the service of others and to her Lord, and now surely finds peace and comfort in the loving arms of her Savior while again enjoying fellowship with her family and Sister's who've been called home ahead of her.
Those left to cherish Sister Mary Supple's memory include
her brother,
Francis Supple;
numerous nieces and nephews;
and her fellow Sisters in faith, the Dominican Sisters.
Sister Mary Supple was preceded in death by her parents.
The Dominican Sisters would like to thank Dr. Jeff White, his nurses and staff, and Hospice of Dubuque, for all of their professional and compassionate care and support of Sister Mary.
