Joseph William Boisso was born on April 28, 1949, in Ottawa, Illinois and spend his childhood there. He graduated from Marquette High School in 1967, went on to Northern Illinois University where he earned a degree in accounting and then relocated to Chicago, Illinois. After retiring from a career with the Chicago Police Department, he was able to devote time to other interests, such as family genealogy. He was an avid member of the LaSalle County Genealogy Guild and an active participant with the Friends of Dayton Bluffs, a volunteer organization that has helped develop the Dayton Bluffs Preserve in Ottawa, Illinois.
Joe died unexpectedly on April 27, 2017. Services were held on Tuesday, May 2nd, 2017 in Chicago, Illinois and an Inurnment Committal was held on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Saint Joseph Cemetery in River Grove, Illinois. An additional memorial event was held in Ottawa, Illinois on Sunday, June 25, 2017.
