Seven-year old Gary Michael Stehle, of St. Joseph, passed away at his home after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.
Gary was born in St. Joseph and attended Humboldt Elemtary School. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church.
He was full of life and loved music, swimming, soccer, camping, fishing with his 'Taco Box' and grandfather.
When anyone met Gary they could not help but love him. He was a fighter and a soldier.
Gary is preceded in death by a paternal grandfather, Gary Stehle. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Melissa Plummer and Joseph McCarthy of the home; his father, Mike Stehle of St. Joseph; brother, Joseph McCarthy III of the home; maternal grandparents, Clara Johnson, Bobby White, Bub & Kelly Plummer; several maternal great-grandparents all of St. Joseph; paternal grandparents, John and Lina Stehle, Valerie Stehle; paternal great-grandmother, Rosemary Sparks all of St. Joseph and Donna McCarthy, who cared for him; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The Mass of Angels was held at St. James Catholic Church. The funeral was held at the Rupp Chapel, St. Joseph.
