Charles H. Hughes
The funeral rites over the remains of Charles H. Hughes, who conducted cafes at Sandy Hill and Totowa, were read yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock, at his late home, 90 Front street. Rev. J. B. Gallaway, D. D., of the Third Presbyterian church, officiated at the ceremonies.
Besides the large number of relatives and friends of the family, there were delegations present from the Grant True Blues, Loyal Orange lodge No. 7, of New York city, and Ontario tribe No. 103, of the Red Men. The deceased was a member of both lodges. A widow, Mrs. Sarah Hughes, and a married daughter, Mrs. Robert Maxwell, survive the deceased.
Undertaker Robert C. Moore had charge of the funeral arrangements. The remains were laid at rest in Cedar Lawn cemetery.

Gravesite Details
Find-a-grave says his birthday is 1862. I question that because: (1) the 1905 N.J. census shows he is 56 which puts his birthday in the 1840s. (2) The 1900 U.S. census says he was born May 1847. and (3) 1st child George was born 1873.
