Florence, as she was known to her family and friends was a lifelong resident of Bourbon, Missouri. She attended the First Assembly of God Church in Bourbon.
On May 15, 1932 she was united in marriage to Carrick F. Mercer, Jr. who preceded her in death December 29, 1964. Surviving her are, two daughters, Bernetta Beckett and husband Oren of Bourbon, Missouri, Brenda Hinch and Glen Moore of Bourbon, Missouri, one son DeWayne Mercer and wife Cecelia of Bartlett, Texas, two sisters, Estora Dorson of St. Louis, Missouri, Valveda Mercer of Bourbon, Missouri, one brother, Cliff Greemlee of Bourbon, Missouri, nine grandchildren, Larry Beckett, Linda Weiskoph, Pam Holtz,Cindy Hoyt, Timmy Mercer, Terry Mercer, Cary Mercer, Wayne Mercer, Brandy Mercer, twelve greatgrandchildren, Shannon Webb, Trista Webb, Nathan Webb, Dusty Weiskoph, Gary (JR) Holtz, Brendon Holtz, Elicia Holtz, Michael Hoyt, Brandon Hoyt, April Mercer, Lynn Mercer, David Michael and Sonya Mercer, other relatives and friends.
Other than those previously mentioned, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Patsy Lee Jenks, two sisters, Devada Dace and Goldie Schmidt and two brothers, Roby Greenlee and Clarence Greenlee.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 25, 1988 from Hassebroek's Bourbon Chapel in Bourbon with Pastor Harold Harrison officiating, Interment was in the Hardy Cemetery, Bourbon, Missouri.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Hassebroek's Bourbon Chapel, Bourbon, Missouri.
