William J. Papai
DIVERNON, IL - William J. Papai, 91 passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at his home.
He was born Jan. 9, 1922, in Divernon, the son of Victor and Mari Pongracz Papai, Sr.
He was preceded in death by four sisters: Mary Harrity, Elizabeth Burg, Anna Oggero and Theresa McGee; and five brothers: Steven, Victor Jr., Louis, Alfred and Ernest Papai.
William served in the U.S. Army Air Forces in England. He retired from the State of Illinois.
Surviving are one sister, Laura Suarez of Springfield; one sister-in-law, Claire Papai of Rochester; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. at Bramley Funeral Home, Divernon. Services will be Friday, Nov. 1 at the funeral home at 11 a.m. with Deacon Denny Baker officiating. Burial will be in Brush Creek Cemetery, Divernon. Military services will be conducted by Auburn VFW and American Legion.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Divernon Senior Center, 44 Dodds St., Divernon, IL 62530.
