Elsie McWilliams was the sister-in-law of "The Singing Brakeman" and "The Father of Country Music", Jimmie Rodgers. She also co-wrote, with Jimmie, many of the songs that he recorded during his recording career. Elsie passed away in her hometown of Meridian, Mississippi. She was laid to rest in the "Rodgers" family plot in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery beside Jimmie, his wife Carrie Cecil, her neice, June Rebecca.
