IRISH, EDDIE B.--Oct. 10, 1980, a resident of Arcata. He was the husband of Maude Irish of Arcata. He was the father of Donna Allen of Chester. He was the grandfather of Barbara Brown of Rochester, N.Y.; and Ronald Allen of Seattle, Wash. He was the brother of Marie Peasley of Ukiah; Sandy Irish of Fieldbrook; and Harvey Irish of Carson City, Nev. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Irish was a native of Lake Crystal, Minn., age 84. He came to Arcata in 1916. He then entered the U.S. Cavalry, serving in the 11th cavalry division along the Mexican border. In 1919 he returned to Arcata and was employed as a mechanic by Bill Crawford and Ford Garage. He was then employed by the California Barrel Factory for 23 years. After that he worked as a special police officer for eight years in the city of Arcata, retiring in 1964.
Friends are invited to attend funeral services on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 1980 at 11 a.m. at Paul's Chapel of the Redwoods, 1070 H St., Arcata, with the Rev. Clarence Freeman officiating. Services will conclude at the chapel with private inurnment at Ocean View Cemetery in Eureka.
Friends may call at the chapel Monday, Oct. 13, 1980, and Tuesday, Oct. 14, from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., also Wednesday, Oct. 15, from 9 a.m.
Those wishing may make memorial contributions to the charity of one's choice.
