Shelby H. Cook died on July 9, 1968 at Brokaw Hospital, Normal, Illinois.

He was born in Deer Creek, Illinois on May 2, 1901, the son of Harmon and Hattie Elizabeth (Parker) Cook.

He married Martha Iona Pippin in Peoria, Illinois on February 11, 1925.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Wayne Cook of Houston, Texas; three foster children, Joe Raineri of Claredon Hills, Illinois; Vernon Raineri of Peoria, Illinois; and Mrs. Caroline Arnold of Fort Worth, Texas; a sister Mrs. Barbara Aldridge of Pekin, Illinois; two brothers, Nelson Cook of Creve Coeur, Illinois; and Edwin Cook of Peoria, Illinois; and four grandchildren.

Mr. Cook worked at Caterpillar Tractor Company until 1947, and farmed in the Eureka area until his retirement in 1962, when he moved to Bloomington, Illinois.

He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and served as a deacon between 1940 and 1968.

His parents and a sister preceded him in death.
