Son of Bannister Dowling & Mettie Frances King Eads; husband of Bessie Townsend Eads.

His obituary stated he died unexpectedly at his home on 909 5th Street in Easley.

Rev. Eads was a native of Toccoa, GA; a graduate of Union High School, the University of South Carolina, and attended Mercer University for graduate work.

He pastored several churches in the GA-SC area, including Morgan Memorial Baptist Church in Greenville. He accepted a calling at Geer Memorial Baptist Church in 1947, where he was serving at the time of his death.

Rev. Eads was a member of the Board of Directors of Easley Baptist Hospital, and was moderator of the Piedmont Baptist Association.

Survived by his wife; a son and daughter; a brother, Rudolph Eads of Greenville, a sister, Mrs. Dellis Williams of Greenville, and his aunt, Miss Waco Eads of the home.

Funeral services: Sunday, OCtober 14, 1962, Geer Memorial Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Jack Ward, Dr. B.F. Rogers, and Dr. Norman R. Lewis.

Honorary escort was the ministers of the Piedmont Baptist Associations and of all denominations of Easley area churches, along with Paul Swayingham, Rev. Cullen Crook, Paul Razor, Homer Coker, and Rev. W.A. Boyce.

As was still the custom of the day, his body was returned to the family home for visitation until the time of the funeral.
