Aubrey Ray “Dick” Stoner, 74, of Rossville, passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 in a local hospital.

Dick was born on January 23, 1943 on Lookout Mountain to the late Jim & Sarah Stoner and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Chattanooga Valley Ward. For many years, he was employed with Devoe Paint Store and was also a self-employed truck driver. Dick loved the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, boating, and auto mechanics. He was preceded in death by his son, Shane Stoner, brothers, Pete & Willie “Banjo” Stoner, and sister, Annie Mahaffey.

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Lynda Carter Stoner; brothers, Tom (Andrea) Stoner & Tilburn (Phyllis) Stoner, all of Rossville, and sister, Audrey (Joe) Murray of Lookout Mountain, GA; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Elder Chad William Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in Payne’s Chapel Cemetery, Lookout Mountain with nephews serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
