MARTIN DUANE BRUBACHER
Martin Duane Brubacher was born Dec. 1, 1925 to Lois Florence Hutton Brubacher and Milford Brubacher at Research Hospital, Kansas City, MO. After which they moved to a farm in Gardner, Kansas where Mr. Brubacher attended Gardner High School and graduated in 1943. Mr. Brubacher joined the US Marine Corp through the draft system and completed boot camp in San Diego, CA in July. He was then shipped overseas July 9th with the 463rd Replacement Battalion. There he joined Company L, 3rd Battalion oftoGuam where Mr. Brubacher was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Area ribbon with 2-stars. On March 1, 1945 he was discharged after 2-years in the Marine Corp as a Corporal.

On returning to civilian life, he worked in many different activities. In 1947 he bought the Kansas City Star Route in Springhill, Kansas and Westinghouse Corp hired him as a 3rd class sheet metal worker and a lay out inspector, where he worked for 9 1/2 years. In Nov. 1960 he was interviewed and hired in the Kansas City plant by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft as an Inspection Methods Planner. He accepted an assignment in Florida at that time. One year later he was promoted to foreman and served 27-years as a Foreman and General Supervisor. There he worked particularly on the RL-10 Rocket Program and the JT-11 Overhaul Program. He retired Jan. 31,1989 from Pratt & Whitney. During Mr. Brubacher' earlier years, 1950's in Kansas; he was a member and past Master of Stanley Masonic Lodge #444 AF & AM, he served as Treasurer of the Stanley Scout Troop #383 and he joined the Stanley Community Church which was associated with the Congregational Christian Church. After arriving with his family in Florida in 1960, Mr. Brubacher transferred to the Riviera Beach United Methodist Church where he served 20-years as the Head Usher. He is presently a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Palm Beach Gardens. He was also a lifetime member of Post #4143 of the VFW. On July 3, 1963 at a Baptist Church in Independence, MO, Martin Brubacher and Pauline Barbour Bush were married. They joined families of 4 sons and 1 daughter all who live locally and later produced 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Survivors include; His wife Pauline; Son Burl & wife Florence Bush, grandsons, Carey Bush, Kurtis & wife Michelle & great-grandchildren Nikolaus & Natalee Bush; Son Jerry Brubacher, grandson Jason, & granddaughter Amy Brubacher & great grandson, Anthony Garza; son, Larry Brubacher; son, Kenneth & wife Wendy Bush, grandson's, David & Steven Raflowitz; daughter, Sherie Brubacher & grandson, Matthew Ballard; also a special sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Wilma Jean and Cecil Wheeler; and numerous relatives and friends.

Family and friends may call at the Royal Palm Funeral Home, 5601 Greenwood Avenue, WPB on Friday, July 17, 1998 from 5-7 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 18, 1998 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Palm Beach Gardens, at 1:00 PM. Interment to follow in Royal Palm Memorial Gardens Cemetery, WPB. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Martin's name to the United Methodist Childrens Hospital, Enterprise, Fl.
