Elizabeth Julia (Mollett) Bowen was born on October 16, 1921 in Martin County, Kentucky, the daughter of John Mollett and Rosa Alice "Rosie" (Sisco) Mollett. {John and Rosie were married in Martin County on July 9, 1907.}

She was married to Jack Bowen Jr, who was born on May 16, 1918 in Johnson County, Kentucky, the son of Jack Bowen and Viola (Spears) Bowen. Jack Jr was badly injured in an automobile accident on July 12, 1952 on Highway 23 and died on March 2, 1955 at home in Black Berry, Johnson County, Kentucky. He was buried in the "family" cemetery in Davisport, Martin County.

Living in Clarksville, Montgomery County, Tennessee, Elizabeth was 95 years old and a widow when she passed away on July 6, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, while survivors included a daughter, three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and ten 2nd-great-grandchildren.

Celebration of Life Services were held on July 10th at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home, and burial was in Reasthaven Memorial Gardens, Clarksville.
