ANNA MELIA McGOWN BAXTER
Anna Melia Nibarger McGown Baxter was the daughter of William Nibarger and Emma Roy Shirk Nibarger. She was born September 21, 1877. She departed this life April 27, 1962, at the age of 84 years, 7 months, and 6 days. She had been in failing health for some time and bed fast since Christmas. She was married to James Gordon McGown who preceded her in death. To this union 4 children were born, 2 boys- William McGown of Shelby, and Albert Roy McGown. 2 girls- Florence L. McGown (Enos) Strine of Marion, and Gladys Marie McGown (Walter) Price. She was living with her daughter Mrs Walter Price in Congress township when she passed away. The loss sustained by her departure is felt by the children, grandchildren, and great-grand children, along with a host of relatives, friends and neighbors. She had 6 grand-children and 13 great-grand-children. She was baptized at the age of 16 in the creek behind the small country church near Raymond where she spent most of her childhood. Moving to Reed ave. in Marion early in her marriage, where she lived her entire life until she became bed fast and moved to Morrow county.
