Laura was born to Harry and Catherine "Kate" Miller Wilkins. She was the oldest of four children and one of only two who lived to adulthood. But, her life was shortened by tuberculosis. She had three children with Otto J. H. Korn Jr. Her only daughter lived just seven months.
