A. C. BAKER, 81, of Lawton, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007, in Lawton.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2007, in the Becker Memorial Chapel, with Noble Pendland, West Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, officiating.
Entombment will be in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
He was born on July 4, 1925 in Athens, Texas to William Penn and Elsie Mable (Hennessee) Baker. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1944 and was discharged in 1946. He then joined the U.S. Army, where he served until his retirement. He married Rosa Halmerbauer on April 18, 1953 in Landshut, Germany. He worked for Checker Cab for 20 years until his health failed.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bill Baker of Lawton, and Erik and Evangeline Baker of Montreal, Canada; a daughter and son-in-law, Dora and Rickie Wentworth of Glenpool, Oklahoma; a grandson and his wife, Albert and Terri Lopez of Lubbock; a great-grandson, Evan Lopez; and two brothers, Guy Baker and Samuel Baker.
His parents, a brother and two sisters preceded him in death.
