MRS. MARTHA BARBOUR DIES AFTER SHORT ILLNESS

Mrs. Martha Barbour, of the Poplar Spring neighborhood, died at four o’clock last Thursday afternoon, after a few hours illness of apoplexy. She was apparently good health when she arose and was suddenly stricken while eating breakfast.

She was 83 years old and was a woman of unusually likable qualities. Before her marriage she was a Miss Bertram of the Etoile section and is survived by one brother of that country. She is also survived by the following children: Mesdames Matt and Montgomery Bacon, Billie Lynn, and Miss Hamie Barbour, and Messrs. Buck and Dan Barbour.

She had been a member of the Baptist church for a number of years.

The remains were interred in the family burying ground near her residence on Friday afternoon, after funeral services conducted by Rev Atnipp.
