Joanne L. Aderhold, 66, of Watsontown, passed away July 10, with her loving family by her side, after her two year courageous battle with colorectal cancer.

Born April 3, 1951 in Muncy, she is the daughter of Claude M. and Catharine E. (Long) Miller, of Muncy.

Joanne was a 1969 graduate of Muncy High School. Prior to her retirement she was employed as a corrections officer at the State Correctional Institute, Muncy. Prior to that, she was employed for several years at the former Sprout Waldron, Muncy. Joanne cherished her grandchildren, and loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed decorating her home for all holidays and was known for her delicious pies and cookies. She loved all animals and leaves behind her faithful dogs Annabelle and Bailey.

Surviving in addition to her parents are a daughter, Julie A. Aderhold of Watsontown; a son, Jeffrey C. Aderhold of Hughesville; two sisters, Julie M. (Terry) Roller of Muncy, Lori S. Miller of Muncy; a brother: Gregory C. (Brenda) Miller of Watsontown; three grandchildren, Katelyn Lindauer, Chase Aderhold, Mason Lindauer; and two nephews, Gregory Miller, Jr., and Seth Roller.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 14, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water Street, Hughesville, PA with Rev. Daniel P. Landin officiating. Burial will follow in Muncy Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to services.
