Charles M. Peterson, age 86, of Lincoln, died in Lincoln on Saturday, July 8, 2017. Born on a farm near Wausa to Martin and Mona (Magnuson) Peterson on October 13, 1930. The family moved to Havelock and Charles graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School in Lincoln. He served in the Air Force for four years. Charles married the love of his life, Jackie Knore, on November 20, 1955, and they were blessed with three children.

He worked for the US Postal Service as a letter carrier for 30 years and retired in 1986. After his retirement, he worked for many years at Sprint Print/Service Products. He also became an avid golfer and bicycle rider, riding up to 30 miles in a day on the trails of Lincoln. He also was an accomplished gardener and enjoyed spending his time outdoors. Member of National Association of Letter Carriers- Branch #8, Eastern Nebraska Senior Golf Assoc., Norden Society, and American Legion Post 3. He will be dearly missed by many friends and acquaintances.

Charles is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jackie; sons, Douglas (Valerie) and Duane (Kelly); daughter, Lorna (Scott) Ellinger; a sister, Elizabeth Payne, and sister-in-law, Maxine Peterson. Preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Mona; brothers, Keith and Franklin, and sisters, Jeniece and Arlyne.
