Chrystal D. Appelgren, 94, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 in River Bluff Nursing Home. Born February 26, 1915 in Noonan, North Dakota, the daughter of Elmer and Julia (Ramsdell) Taylor.

Chrystal married Carl L. Appelgren November 23, 1939 in First Lutheran Church, where she remained a member until her death. Her husband predeceased her January 27, 1994.

Chrystal held several different employment positions, including manager of a Prince Castle ice cream store, and safe deposit clerk at First National Bank, where she retired in 1984 after 14 years.

She is survived by: sons, Jack C. (Judy) Appelgren and Ross S. (Susan) Appelgren; grandchildren, Andrew (Denise) Appelgren, Katy (Brian) Nuttbrock, Douglas (Mikeala) Appelgren and Bryson Hines; and great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by: parents; husband; sister, Pearl Taylor in 2005; and infant sister, Marjorie.

Funeral service on Saturday, February 20, 2010 in Olson Funeral Home. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park.
