Alvin J. Regan, age 74 of Hartford, Wisconsin passed away Friday, June 16, 2017 at the Clearview Nursing Home in Juneau.
Al was born January 6, 1943 in Sheboygan, WI to Daniel P. and Mildred L. (nee Zickuhr) Regan. He was united in marriage to Margaret L. Weber on Jan. 29 1966 at St. Kilian’s Catholic Church, Hartford. Al served in the United States Army from June 1961 and was honorably discharged June 1967. He was a dedicated police officer for the Hartford Police Department for20 years and retired in1993. Al enjoyed working with the Hartford Emergency Squad as an EMT and a hall monitor for Hartford Union High School.
Al is survived by his loving children, Donald (Julie) Regan of Fond du Lac, David (Kari) Regan of Lowell, IN, Dennis (Julie) Regan of Hartford, and Debbie (Dave) Polak of Johnsons Creek; cherished grandchildren, Jessica, Dominick, Alexis, Tyler, Michael, Mitchell and Madalynn; brother, LeRoy (Dawn) Regan and dear step sister, Helen Ann (nee Bernt) Hoeller; and sisters-in-law, Carol (nee Weber) Kreuser and Suzanne (nee Weber) Kreuser. He is further survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 26 years, Margaret L. Regan; parents, Daniel P. and Mildred Regan-Bernt (nee Zickuhr); step father, Irvin Bernt; parents-in-law, Elmer and Lucille (nee Herman) Weber; uncle and Godfather, James D. Regan; his brother and sister-in-law, Douglas and Mary Regan; brother-in-law, Frederick Kreuser; and step brother-in-law, James Hoeller.
Funeral Services for Al will be held Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home (824 Union Street Hartford, WI 53027) with Pastor Paul Waldschmidt officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00-6:45p.m. Internment Friday, June 23, 2017, 10:00 AM. in St. Kilian Cemetery with military honors.
