Ruhamer Mercy Banner was the youngest of eight children born to Charles Banner and Rebecca Evans. She married Rev. David Wesley Doub on January 20, 1847 in Stokes County, North Carolina. They were the parents of Josephine, John Wesley, Margaret Elizabeth, William F., and Charles Banner Doub.
