62 year old Joe LaVaughn Alverson of McMinnville and formerly of Sparta died Tuesday night at his residence. The funeral will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Hunter Funeral Home in Sparta. Burial will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home after noon on Wednesday. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Greene Alverson of McMinnville. One son Bradley Joseph Alverson of Dowelltown. A daughter, LaVaughnda Satterfield. One grandson, Wesley H. Tatrow. Four step-sons, Roger Taylor, Thomas Martin, Darick Martin, and Jerry Martin. Two brothers, Carl Alverson, Jr. of Sparta and Earl Alverson and his wife Doris of Sparta. Two sisters, Betty Goff of Sparta and Earleen Lafever and her husband James of Sparta. Hunter Funeral Home in Sparta is in charge of the arrangements.
