Son of Pioneer Business Man of S.C. Buried

In Santa Cruz, the city where he was born, the body of Bertrum S. Chace of San Jose was laid to rest yesterday afternoon. Burial was in the Chace family plot in the Odd Fellows cemetery. Wessendorf's mortuary had charge. The funeral service were held in the W.B. Ward undertaking rooms in San Jose, the the Rev. Mark Rifenbark conducting them.

Chace, who was 55 years old, was a son of John D. Chace, pioneer merchant of Santa Cruz.

He is survived by his widow; by two sons, Robert and Joseph Chace; by two brothers, John R. Chace, San Jose postmaster, and C.H. Chace of San Jose; and three sisters, Mrs. Frederick T. Hale and Mrs. Minnie Hinh of Santa Cruz and Mrs. J.W. Grant of Louisville.
