William (Bill) Henry Soulliere, Sr. was born on August 5, 1931 to Ernest and Catherine (Melcher) Soulliere in St. Marys Hospital in Columbus, Nebraska. He died on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Brookestone Meadows Rehabilitation Care Center at the age of 85 (following a heart attack.)

Bill attended St. Bonaventure School. He served in the Army in the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post#84 and a Life Member of the VFW Post #3704 and the Knights of Columbus. After his time in the service, he worked for the Union Pacific railroad, Pats Store for Homes, and Firestone before starting his own tire business, Bills Tire Outlet in 1955.

On March 20, 1952, he married Mildred (Millie) E. Henke. They were married for 18 years and blessed with three children, Rebecca (Becky), William (Bill), and Robert (Bob) before her death in 1970. He married Betty Jean Boyd on June 27, 1987. They were blessed with 26 years of marriage before her death in 2013.

Bills hobbies included dancing, playing cards, and travel.

He is survived by his daughter Becky (Ron) Brandl of Lincoln, Nebraska, Bill (Jolene) Soulliere Jr., Bob (Michelle) Soulliere of Columbus, Nebraska; nine grandchildren Jill, Adam, Matthew, Billy, Tina, Bob, Nick, Cody, Kylee; and ten great-grandchildren Andrejs, Lillija, Michael, Lucas, Aubrey, Liam, Harlow, Dillon, Kennedy, Alice, Luke, and Ainsley; brother Dean (Colleen) Soulliere of Columbus, sister-in-laws Peg Soulliere of Calimesa, California, Kathy Soulliere of Bellwood, Nebraska, Dee (Bob) Graham of York, Nebraska, brother-in-laws Bob Henke of Omaha, Nebraska and Gayle Stuefer of Lincoln, Nebraska; stepdaughter Willa (Ted) Lutz of Falls Church, Virginia, stepson Clayton Boyd of Boulder, Colorado and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Catherine Soulliere, wives, Millie and Jean, brothers, Jim and Gary, and sisters, Joyce Stuefer, and infant sister, Lois.

A special thank you to the doctors, ICU nurses, surgeons, and therapists of the Columbus Community Hospital and Faith Regional CardioVascular Institute, the LifeNet Medical Helicopter crew, and the Brookestone Acres skilled nursing care for providing our father with exemplary medical services in an environment of love and compassion.
