Ruby Luellen was born in Grapeland, Texas, the daughter of Jim Wade Ashley & Lillie Belle Carter. She was one of ten children born to the couple; with her being the eldest daughter. She married James Odell Brown on 8 Jun 1940 and to this union the following children were born:

Sheila Ann (Brown)Lindsey
Sandra Alicia (Brown)Hawkins
Randell Dale Brown
Bonnie Luellen (Brown)Johnson
Meridith Elaine (Brown)Kewish

Ruby & her husband Jim also adopted two young boys:

Delmer Makil
Elmer Makil

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Jim, on 21 Oct 2005, and by her son Randell on 28 Feb 2004.

She and her husband Jim, gave their lives in service to the Lord. Serving as the pastorate couple in different churches over the years as well as serving in different mission fields here in the United States as an outreach to the American Indians.

Ruby loved the Lord and never missed a chance to share his message of salvation that is offered to us all:

John 3:16
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Ruby believed in the Lord and had accepted him as her Lord and Savior. Her work here on earth is finished and God has taken her home. Have you accepted his offer of salvation?

Ruby had a beautiful poem that hung on the wall in her home; it sums up her life and what she believed:

This is the beginning
of a New Day.
God has given me this day
to use as I will.
I can waste it
or grow in it's light
and be of service to others.
But what I do
with this day is important
because I have exchanged
a day in my life for it.
When tomorrow comes,
today will be gone forever.
I hope I will not regret
the price I paid for it.


Ruby never regretted loving the Lord or the years she gave in his service and now she has gone on to her great reward where she hopes all those she loves will join her one day.
