Joyce Alice Barber Staunton was born to Lloyd and Alice Barber in Portland, Oregon on September 6th, 1932. She was an only child. She was raised in several towns in Oregon including Hebo and Cottage Grove before moving with her parents to Tulelake, California in 1941.

Her parents owned and operated the Tulelake, Hardware store which was a central hub for tools and hunting supplies. It was there that Joyce would meet her husband Bill. Joyce graduated from Tulelake High School in June of 1950 and attended University of Oregon in Eugene. Joyce was an avid Ducks fan.

In June of 1951, she would marry Bill Staunton; they would be married for 66 years. They raised their children, Barbera and Web in Tulelake. Joyce also did the accounting in support of Bill for Staunton Farms.

She loved photography and drawing cartoons. At one time, she was offered a job to draw for the Disney Art Studios. Many people were blessed by her cards.

They remained in Tulelake until 1982 when they purchased a home in Fall River Mills, California. They loved to travel and spent over 20 winters in the Puerto Vallarta area of Mexico.

In the mid-1990's they purchased a home in Ajo Arizona and would spend their winters in Arizona and their summers in Fall River Mills, Ca. In November of 2015, Bill and Joyce moved to Medford, Oregon.

In October of 2016, Joyce was admitted to Bartlett house, a memory care facility. The family would like to thank those at Bartlett house and at Veranda Park who helped care for her through these difficult times.

She will be greatly missed by her husband Bill of Medford, Oregon, daughter, Barbie and son in law Roger Hyytinen of Reno, Nevada, son, Web and daughter in law Karen of Medford Oregon. She is also survived by grandchildren Jonell Hutsell, Holly Hunter, Hannah Newton, Josh Staunton, Rachel Downing and Zach Staunton. In addition, she is survived by numerous great grandchildren.

Her faith in Christ was her strength in all that she did and her love for all was evident all through her life. Her gift of hospitality will be missed by all.
