Betty L. Segraves 73, passed away March 5, 2017 at 10:25 a.m. at Belltower Health & Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her family. She was born January 27, 1944 in South Bend to the late William Colley & Martha (Barnes) Dobbins. She was preceded in death by her parents, twin daughters Sharon and Karen Dale, Step-dad Herb Dobbins and 1 sister Ruth Rea.
On June 4, 1982 in Dunlap she married G.L. Mike Segraves; he survives in South Bend along with 2 children Sherry (Steve) Cooper of Elkhart and Peggy Bachtel of Granger. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren Amber Dale, Stephanie (Chase) Holtzinger and Jennifer Cooper, 2 brothers Jim (Sue) Colley of Florida and Marvin (Cora) Colley of Millcreek, IN.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home and burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery.
Betty was formally employed as a nurse’s aide and a banquet server manager for many years. In her spare time she loved to play bingo and gamble in Las Vegas, she was also an avid animal lover.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Elkhart County Humane Society, the American Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
