KNOX -- Noah Barnett, 82, of 901 S. Portland St., died early today in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Fort Wayne, where he had been a patient for the last month. Friends may call at the Kennedy & Braman Funeral Home after noon Friday.

KNOX -- Funeral services for Noah Barnett, 82, of 901 S. Portland St., who died Thursday, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Kennedy and Braman Funeral Home. Full military rites for Mr. Barnett, the last Spanish American War veteran in Starke County, will be accorded at Crown Hill Cemetery, Rev. Orban Rudd, pastor of the United Baptist Church, will officiate. He was born March 5, 1882, in Magoffin County, Kentucky coming here 39 years ago from there. He is survived by his wife, Ida; three sons, Boyd of Fort Wayne and Mabry and Lester, both of Knox; four daughters, Mrs. Fanny Howard of North Judson, Mrs. Myrtle Barkman of Anderson, Mrs. Christina Gould of Fort Wayne and Mrs. Irene Gerotis of Knox; a brother, Stephen of Knox and a sister, Mrs. Ella Owens of Royalton, Ky. Friends may call at the funeral home.
