Clyde Alan Miller
March 15, 1934 ~ July 21, 2017

Our beloved Father, Grandfather and friend passed away peacefully in his home July 21, 2017, having survived raising 8 children. Born March 15, 1934 to parents Clyde Allan and Florence Todd Miller in Salt Lake City, UT. Preceded in death by the love of his life, Chadra Carbine Miller. Survived by his children Sharilyn, Marci, Michael (Ginna), Jared (Kristin), Janae (Fred Bennett), Jannika, Jason (Elizabeth), Matthew (Debra), unofficial adoptee Tammee Shumway, 27 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and siblings Karl (Peggy) and Mark (Linda). Also preceded in death by his Mother, Father and siblings Faith, twin sister Eve, and Janice Densley.
Dad was an avid BYU football fan, a Jazz music enthusiast, and a fanatic health nut who enjoyed running. He loved to ski in the winter and fish in the summer. A people person, he made friends easily. He was a horrible dancer which always made us laugh. He had a great sense of humor and was very quick witted. Dad enjoyed his church callings and particularly loved teaching Gospel Doctrine. He often brought candy to class to encourage participation and in primary he was known as Brother Tootsie Roll. Sharing his testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ with his children and grandchildren was something he enjoyed and he shared that knowledge often. He was a wise man, a great counselor and teacher. We miss you already.
Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 7035 S Nutree Drive (3325 East), Salt Lake City, Utah. Evening viewing Thursday, July 27th, 6:00 pm-8:00 pm. Morning viewing Friday, July 28th, 9:30 am, followed by funeral service at 11:00 am. Interment will be at the Crescent Cemetery, 11105 South State Street, Sandy, Utah.
