Gene was born May 31, 1927 in Humboldt, Nebraska to Albert and Sara (Tinkler) Lionberger. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Gene retired from Pitney-Bowes as a Service Technician. Gene enjoyed woodworking.
Survivors include two sons, Roger Lionberger and Keith Lionberger and wife Jill; five grandchildren, Emily, Lucas, Shelby, Joey, and Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Erma Fay Lionberger; his parents; six sisters; and one brother.
Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
