David Ellis Gilleland, III, 16, son of David Ellis Gilleland, Jr. and Alicia Flowers Gilleland, died Friday, July 21, 2017, in Georgetown.
Mr. Gilleland was born in Mt. Pleasant on, May 15, 2001. He grew up in Georgetown and attended Georgetown High school, where he was a raising junior. Mr. Gilleland was a member of the Naval ROTC, the Cross Country team and the Tennis team. He was very much of a people person and a very respectful young man. Mr. Gilleland attended Victory Christian Fellowship, where he helped with the Youth Group, Vacation Bible School and worked with the Mission Group. He formally attended Maryville Pentecostal Holiness Church. He had a great love for running and shooting basketball.
In addition to his parents of Georgetown, Mr. Gilleland is survived by: two sisters; Loretta G. Leverett (Will) and Mary Caroline "Carrie" Gilleland, both of Georgetown; his maternal grandparents, Robert and Alice Flowers of Georgetown and his paternal grandparents; David Gilleland of Andrews and Mary Lou Gilleland of Georgetown; a niece, Adalee Hockenberry and a nephew, Baylor Leverett, both of Georgetown; two aunts, Caroline Williamson of Pawleys Island and Tabitha Guider of Columbia; and two uncles, Stephen Flowers and Davey Flowers, both of Georgetown.
Funeral Services will be at eleven o'clock Monday, July 24, 2017, at Victory Christian Fellowship. Officiating will be the Rev. Jason Goude. Burial will be in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Sunday, July 23, 2017, at Victory Christian Fellowship from four until six o'clock.
