Funeral for L.B. Clement, 85, retired farmer and stockman, formerly of Sunset was May 2, at Fry Funeral Home Chapel in Bowie. The Rev. Jamie Reed, pastor of East Side Baptist Church in Bowie officiated. Burial was at Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie.
Born Feb. 25, 1918, in Decatur to Charlie and Myrtle Clement, he died Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at a Bowie healthcare facility.
He married the former Anna Belle Holland on June 7, 1936, in Montague.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Raymond and his wife Deloris Clement of Bowie, Leon and his wife Sharon Clement of Victoria and Jerry and his wife Janet Clement of Bowie; seven grandchildren, Kerry and his wife Norma Clement of Gunter, Kris and her husband DeWayne Tamplen of Decatur, Kami and her husband Jackie Bowman of Bowie, Tim and his wife Anne Clement of Austin, Kyle and his wife Lori Clement of Hampton, Va., Sharesa and her husband Wesley Driskill of Gunter and Jay and his wife, Jennifer Clement of Bowie; 14 great-grandchildren; and a special nephew he helped raise, Dickie Clement of Spring.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, an infant in 1927, Selma Clement in 1975 and Winfred Clement in 1956; and a sister, Velma Rhea Wood in 2003.
