Jack E. Magness, 79, of Trent, passed away July 24, 2017.

Visitation will be 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Funeral service will be 12:30 PM, Friday, July 28, 2017 at Harvest Baptist Church, 1389 Vine Street. Interment will follow the service in Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene.

Jack was born to James and Lula Magness on May 31, 1938 in Logansport Louisiana.

He graduated Stamford High School in 1957.

He married the love of his life on December 24, 1957 and spent 59 wonderful years together.

He served 11 years in the United States Army.

Jack then went on to graduate from Baptist Bible College in Springfield Missouri in 1972.

He loved to fish, go camping and motorcycles but above all this he love his family.

He was a very kind hearted and loving man that will be missed dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Roy Magness; and one sister, Brenda Magness.

He is survived by his wife, Lola Magness; two sons, James Magness and wife Jillayne and Steven Magness; one daughter, Pamela Mohler and husband Joseph; grandchildren, Taylor Magness, Alex Magness, Stephan Mohler, Desirea Stocker, and Emilie Mohler; one great grandson, Olivier Mohler; three sisters, Bobbie Lockhart, Bettie Cagle, and Mary Dowling; and one brother, Curtis Magness.
