ARLINGTON, Tex. - Betty Sharp passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior, July 23, 2017.
Funeral service is 10 a.m., Thursday, at Woods Chapel Baptist Church. Visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Moore Funeral Home.
She retired from AISD after serving 22 years as secretary for the Special Education Department. In 2002, she was awarded as Paraprofessional of the Year by the Arlington Educational Secretaries and Paraprofessional Association.
Betty was a member of University Baptist Church for 45 years and served as a Sunday school teacher for elementary age children, youth and adults, church clerk and various committees. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Arlington Life Shelter and was a member of the Partners of the Arlington Life Shelter Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by: her father, Ray Sutton; her mother, Manetta Sutton; and brother, Douglas.
Survivors include: husband, Ray Sharp; daughter, Julie Sharp; son, Steven Sharp; grandson, Dylan Sharp; sister, Sue Conner and husband Ivy of Huntsville, AR; brother, Max Sutton and wife Cathy of Wichita, KS; and many cousins, nephews and nieces.
