Crown Prince. Son of the last Mughal Emperor, Bahadur Shah II Zafar. Died of cholera a year before the Sepoy Mutiny of 1857. The joint Hindu-Muslim rebel force chose Bahadur Shah as their figurehead leader. When the Mutiny was crushed the Emperor was forced into exile, ending the dynasty.
