ST. JOSEPH Sister Gertrudis Peters, 78, of St. Benedict's Convent, died Tuesday at St. Scholastica Convent, St. Cloud. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Benedict's Convent Chapel. Burial will be in the convent cemetery. Friends may call after 11:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Scholastica Convent and from 7 p.m. Thursday until time of services Friday at St. Benedict's Convent Chapel. Sister Gertrudis Peters was born July 8, 1908, in St. Rose to Theodore and Catherine (Van Heel) Peters. She entered the convent June 16, 1936; made first vows July 11, 1937; and final vows July 11, 1940. She worked as a seamstress at St. Benedict's in the novitiate and St. Walberg's vestment department for 41 years, retiring in 1978. Survivors include brothers and sisters, Lawrence Fuhrman, Sauk Centre; Sister Guntildis, St. Joseph; Sister Rosalie, Isabel Carlson, Adeline, and Mrs. Leo (Loretta) Weidenbach, St. Paul. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Sister Merwina; and three brothers.
