Phyllis Marie Bufkin, 58, of Centralia, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at her home surrounded by family. Phyllis was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church in Centralia. She sang in the choir, and was on the usher board. Phyllis enjoyed coaching special Olympics. She was a supervisor at the Kaskaskia Workshop. She loved to play bingo, the lotto, and do scratch offs. She treasured the time she spent with her family, and was known for her cooking. She loved being around children.
Celebration of life services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the Second Missionary Baptist Church in Centralia with Rev. Johnson and Rev. Parker officiating. Burial will follow Elmwood Cemetery. Friends and relatives are respectfully invited to visiting hours at the church from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the church. Phyllis is preceded in death by both of her parents, brother Gary Walker, grandchildren, Taniya Matthews; son-in-law Melvin Perkins.
