Alfred John “Al” Gurtner Jr, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 21, 2017 surrounded by his caring and loving family.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Odelia Parker and his second wife, Glenda Gurtner; son, Alfred John Gutner III; parents, Alfred John Gurtner Sr and Mary Gurtner. Al is loving father of Stacey Gurtner Combs , Daniel Gurtner (Kristina) and Anthony J. Gurtner ( Jennifer). He is devoted grandfather of 9 grandchildren, Brandon Gurtner, Adreanna Gurtner, Cody Gurtner, Emily Gurtner, Ethan Gurtner, Madelyn Gurtner, Cameron Gurtner, Brayden Gurtner and Kelsi Gurtner. He is great grandfather of Autumn Grace Hall. He is also survived by other family and friends.
Al was a retired truck driver and a US Veteran serving in the US Army. He was a passionate classic car show enthusiast and was president of the 50s 60s Car Club. He enjoyed many activities with his grandkids and his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Monday, July 31, 2017 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm with a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM on Tuesday August 1, 2017 at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Gretna, Louisiana.
