AUDREY BOOTH UELAND

Audrey Booth Ueland, a 62-year resident of Southold, died Nov. 20, 2012. She was 98 years old.

She was born May 7, 1914, in New York City to Charles Brandon Booth and Naomi Sutherland Bailey. Her great-grandfather was William Booth, founder of The Salvation Army, and her grandfather was Ballington Booth, founder of Volunteers of America.

Predeceased in 1986 by her husband, Arthur Ueland, whom she married Sept. 14, 1940, in Hempstead, she is survived by her children: James Michael Liebl of Northport, Nancy Louise Palahnuk of Southold, Stephen Booth Ueland of Hudson, N.Y., and Wendy Kristine Shaw of Cutchogue; nine grandchildren: Laurie Anne Palahnuk, Michael Nestor Palahnuk, Kristina Beth Lassen, Peter Brent Lassen, Wesley Stephen Lassen, James Anthony Liebl, Benjamin George Ueland, William Arthur Ueland and Jennifer Carol Ueland; and eight great-grandchildren: Annika Ruby Ueland, Wesley Ben Lassen, Natalie Marie Lassen, Grace Caroline Marshall, Clayton Cole Marshall, Arthur Van Lassen, Jaclyn Ann Liebl and James Liebl. She was also predeceased by three brothers, Weldon (Bob) Sutherland Booth, Carroll Bailey Booth and Richard Ross Booth.

The family received friends Nov. 23 at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold, where religious services were conducted Nov. 24 by the Rev. Stan Knavel. Interment was at Southold Presbyterian Cemetery.
