Norma Bromell

Norma Lee Bromell died Monday, July 31, 2017 at Olathe Hospice House. She was born on February 4, 1927 at Bakersfield, MO, the daughter of Jesse and Leona Price Singer. On April 27, 1953 she married John Bromell at the old Cathedral in Leavenworth. He preceded her in death April 30, 2005. She worked at the Easton Middle School as a cook until she retired in 1993. She was a member of St. Joseph of the Valley Church and the Altar Society. She volunteered at St. John Hospital. Survivors include Steven Bromell (Gwen), Lansing, Michael Bromell (Beth Crockett) and Mary Lee Sullivan (Dennis), all of Leavenworth, Linda Nickel, Topeka and Sandra Waller, Basehor, eleven grandchildren, Rachel (Danny) West, Ashley and Paul (Amanda) Wagner, John (Elizabeth) Bromell, Stephanie (Ryan) Hawks, Crystal, Paul and Morgan Bromell, Luke and Jessie Nickel, and Brent Waller and four great-grandchildren, Oliver West, Kinley Hawks, Caroline and Chloe Bromell. Norma was preceded in death by one grandson, Derek Bromell, two sisters, Mary and Anna, three brothers, Clifford, Simon and Paul. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 2, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at St. Joseph of the Valley Church. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at St. Joseph of the Valley Church. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. IN lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Joseph of the Valley Church or Bethel Cemetery. Friends and relatives may come to Davis Funeral Chapel Wednesday, August 2, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. to sign the book, but there will be no viewing.
