Ida Faye Cole was born Monday, April 22, 1918 in Theodosia, MO to William and Edna (Kelly) Friend. She attended school in Ozark County. She met Otis Ray Cole in Ozark County and they were married March 21, 1937 in Protem, MO. Faye became a homemaker and worked for two years in a local nursing home as a nursing aid. She stayed in the area her whole life mainly as a homemaker. Otis died in 1990.
Faye was a kid at heart. She was loving, caring and fun to be around. She loved to prank the family; however, they pranked her back because she was very fearful of frogs. She enjoyed quilting, reading her Bible and fishing. She was a member of the Bryant Ridge Church in Taneyville.
She is survived by one daughter, Sue Hughey of Taneyville; six grandchildren, Randy Hughey, Rocky Hughey, Mike Cole, Mary Cole Jones, Sherri Gideon and D.J. Cole; ten great-grandchildren and sixteen great-great-grandchildren
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Otis Cole; two sons, Verlon “Billy” Cole, Donald Ray Cole; one brother, Ted Friend and a twin sister, Mary Bailey.
