Louis was drafted into the US Army 9 June 1967.
When Louis arrived in Vietnam 12 November 1967, he was assigned to C Company, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry, 4th Infantry Division, USARV. C Company was operating in the vicinity of Hill 1199 and 22 kilometers south southeast of The Suoi Doi Airfield, when the company was engaged hostile forces. Louis died as a result of gunshot wounds to the body from hostile rifle fire.
Survived by his parents, Dove and Floral Deanie Kimbrell of Route 1, Sibley Missouri.
