A lifelong resident of Peckville, daughter of the late Joseph and Nellie Shander, she retired from Mid-Valley Hospital as a business manager and was a member of the former St. Michael the Archangel Church, now Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick's Church.
Her son, Ron, would like to make a special thank you to the staffs at Lackawanna Health and Rehab and Compassionate Care Hospice for their care of Dorothy.
She is survived by a son, Ronald J., Peckville; a grandson, Brian and wife, Nicole; great-grandson, Rhys; and a sister, Romayne Wilcha, Peckville.
The funeral will be Monday at 9 a.m. from the Hudak-O'Shea Funeral Home, 115 Garfield Ave., Olyphant, with Mass at 9:30 in Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick's Church, 200 Delaware Ave., Olyphant, with Monsignor Michael J. Delaney, pastor, officiating. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Mausoleum, Dickson City.
