Revolutionary War Officer. He served the United States as a Adjutant/ Soldier with the 7th Pennsylvania Regiment during the War of the Rebellion. He later became a contractor and supplier to General "Mad" Anthony Wayne's Army. While travelling on horseback with a servant from Fort Hamilton to Fort Washington, he was ambushed by Indians and killed about four miles from Hamilton on what is now Winton Road in Butler County in 1794. He was initially buried at the Cincinnati Presbyterian Cemetery and later removed to the 12th Street Burying Ground in 1835. Upon developmental plans for the area, he was disinterred again and removed to Spring Grove Cemetery on September 25, 1858.
